Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Matthew Payne Consulting collects through this web site, our contact and diagnostic forms, and our social media messaging (including Instagram), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Matthew Payne Consulting ("we," "us," "our") is a business consulting, coaching, and capital-introduction practice operated by Matt Payne. This policy applies to matthewpayneconsulting.com and to the messaging tools we use to communicate with prospective and current clients, including email and Instagram.
Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide directly. When you fill out a contact form, book a call, request our Qualified Conversation Diagnostic, or otherwise submit a form on this site, we collect what you enter — typically your name, email address, phone number, company or firm name, and any message or context you share.
- Information from social media interactions. If you comment on one of our posts or send us a direct message on Instagram (including in response to an automated comment-reply), we receive your public username, the content of your comment or message, and, where you initiate a conversation, the messages exchanged with us. We use this to send the specific reply or resource you requested and to continue the conversation if you engage further.
- Business contact information we source. As part of our outreach practice, we identify publicly available or professionally published business contact information (such as a name, title, firm, and business email) for financial advisors, estate planning attorneys, fund managers, and similar professionals we believe may be interested in our services. This is handled under the same standards described in our Email Communications Policy.
- Analytics and usage data. Like most web sites, we collect standard technical data when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and approximate location — through analytics and advertising tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel or Conversions API. This helps us understand how the site is used and measure the performance of our advertising.
- Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies (including those set by Google and Meta) to remember basic preferences, measure site performance, and, where applicable, measure the results of paid advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still function, though some measurement features may not.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry, schedule a call, or deliver a service, diagnostic, or resource you requested.
- To reach out to business professionals about our consulting, coaching, and capital-introduction services, consistent with our Email Communications Policy.
- To reply to comments and messages on Instagram and other social platforms, including through automated first-response tools that route your comment or message to the right reply or resource, with Matt personally reviewing and continuing any real conversation that follows.
- To operate, secure, and improve this web site, and to measure how our content and advertising perform.
- To meet legal, accounting, or contractual obligations, such as retaining records of client engagements.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
- We do not use purchased consumer lists or scrape private, non-public data about individuals.
We do share information with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instruction — for example, our email and calendar platform (Google Workspace), our outreach and CRM tools, our web hosting and analytics providers, and Meta, when you interact with us on Instagram. These providers only use your information to help us operate the service you engaged with, not for their own purposes.
Instagram and Meta Platform data
Where we use Meta's Instagram Messaging tools to respond to comments and direct messages, we access only the information Meta's platform makes available for that purpose — your username, the comment or message content, and the resulting conversation thread. We use this solely to send the reply or resource associated with your comment and to continue that conversation. We do not use this data for any purpose unrelated to responding to you, and we do not sell it. You can stop the conversation at any time by not replying, blocking, or messaging us and asking us to stop; you can also manage what Matthew Payne Consulting can see through your own Instagram privacy settings.
Data retention
We keep contact and conversation information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, deliver a requested service, maintain business records, or comply with legal and tax obligations, and we delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed for those purposes.
Your choices
- You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to the address below.
- You can unsubscribe from our email at any time using the link in any message, by replying "unsubscribe," or by writing to us — see our Email Communications Policy for details.
- You can stop a conversation on Instagram at any time, and can ask us to delete the associated data.
- You can limit cookies and analytics tracking through your browser or device settings.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access-controlled business email, cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security, and limited retention, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This site and our services are directed at business professionals and are not intended for, and are not knowingly used to collect information from, children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our practices or the services we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
